Mournor trojan is annoying and it is capable of messing up Windows operating system. Fortunately, this infection can be avoided easily; Mournor has to be executed manually. Unfornately, the trojan tricks people into running the malware. Mournor trojan arrives as explorer.exe file, but the icon of this file suggests that it’s actually an image. Whoever is curious enough to run the file gets the Mournor. Mournor is also detected as Trojan.Mournor by some security tools.
Once executed, Mournor either deletes or renames and hides original Windows explorer application. It inserts copy of itself (explorer.exe) instead of the real program. It also creates malicious files on SYSTEM directory. This may result system crashes and other inconveniences. The trojan makes necessary changes in registry to run on boot. Trojan.Mournor may install other malware.
